Micro Paint Kit – Everything in one tiny tin

from $28.00
sold out

Inspired by a high school science teacher’s tiny journaling kits she makes for her students, I’m offering a limited first-run of a fun all-in-one paint kit. Slip this in your purse with a little zig-zag book or Moleskine and you’ll always be ready to capture a moment. Includes:

  • Altoids-sized tin with white mixing surface on the inside lid

  • Custom 3D-printed paint palette that sits in the bottom of the tin (15 wells); these are shallow wells similar in size to Art Toolkit paint pans.

  • Micro-sized Pentel waterbrush

  • No. 2 Ticonderoga or similar pencil cut to size (some have erasers, some do not; with the two-tipped pencil you can sharpen with two different nib shapes using a field knife)

  • Small kneadable eraser which doubles as a stopper for the waterbrush when you take the tip off for stowing in the tin (see photo)

  • Mini spray bottle (for moistening your paints)

  • Slice of sponge (for cleaning your brush)

Now only offering without paints—the labor is too high for filling the pans!

My recommended triad+2 colors are a cyan-magenta-yellow triad (Daniel Smith Manganese Blue Hue, Aureolin Yellow, Quinacridone Rose) plus Burnt Sienna and Indanthrone Blue, which make the best blacks and grays together. But of course put whatever colors you like in your new kit!
